What is your New Year's Resolution?
I have a long list. One of them is to lose weight and maintain it, so I would have less cardiovascular diseases like hypertension.

What did you want to "escape" BS Nursing?
I wanted to escape BS Nursing because I was overwhelmed with the stresses required and I had self-doubt when it came to skills for I know one day, I can injure someone accidentally which can have some horrendous repercussions. Also, I found the CI's (Clinical Instructors), too demanding, too strict and overexpecting and somehow demotivating, even though I studied in one of the best nursing schools in the country. What concerned me the most, is the nursing process itself. When I found out about the nursing process, I was stunned. It's very long.and has to be carefully made, because if you have one mistake, you're dead. This is the soul of Nursing and if that is so, then I was out of there. I then realized that psychology was really meant for me. There were many signs pushing me into psychology.
What's the worst things you've said/done to an immediate family member this year?
Now, I don't think I did or said a bad thing to them.
What do you look forward to in the new year?
Basically, some improvements in my life. There will always be hope because if you are hopeful, you will believe that something good will happen and that's the sign of optimism. If you are despairful (Hopeless), you will doubt that something good will happen and that's the sign of pessimism.

Poetic Justice in the Academia
I would describe school, like Nagasaki on the verge of being bombed by an Atomic bomb. We were demotivated as I see that critical thinking and deep learning are not on our priority list. Someone in our class said that "We should encourage ourselves". Now, I don't know where we can get that energy of encouragement.
I rather become schizophrenic than studying schizophrenia. Welcome to the inferno of education where time and energy is wasted and frustrations erupt like Pinatubo and where students worship the numerical deities named "Grades", the gods and goddesses of education. The teachers are the fuel of those deities.
I am starting to see that the college is like a canvas for the Dadaists to work on. It is very true. Teachers point academic guns on us not for the sake of learning but for the sake of gaining grades.
For a very long time, I have been a wonderful critic of education. I will be a mentor one day, and I swear to the best of my being, not to be a 1-star or 2-star teacher, but a 5-star teacher. Having titles like MA or Ph.D. does not guarantee competent teaching or fruitful delivery of lessons. That's proven by one of my professors, indirectly.
I am just saddened by how teachers and students are treated by the college. The saying is true, when you say "You cannot please everyone.", but then it seems like the college is doing this in purpose. Business, is the root of the game where people thrive in a legacy with less worth than themselves. They are creatures of indignation.
The beauty is still there in front us, it is just that we are blinded by disgust.
I shall therefore quote Mr. John Keating from the Movie "Dead Poets Society" to end this post:
"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?"
Hello there! Why BS Psychology? :)
Hi! BS Psychology is my 2nd course in the sense of shifting from another course. I have 4 reasons:
1) To escape from BS Nursing
2) Because I have realized that I belong to this kind of field
3) As Socrates said "To know Thyself"
4) And to know and understand other people. .

I have a hypothetical question: How would you react or think, if you see a live animal cell, the size of a human? What would it look like, or feel like?

If you a chance to go time travel into history, which period of history would you like to end up and why? (This is not for any particular history, it is world history).

The miracle of hugging.
Hugging other people is when our hearts are at their closest. It gives a great feeling of acceptance, of affection, of love and of appreciation. It is an act of compassion where we magnify our feelings in the presence of others just so we know that we are not alone. It is one of the best things that can happen in human relationships. It is a booster of trust and security. It is passion I would like to develop since it has many health benefits. It is an act that is never regrettable or condemnable.
Hugging promotes many things that are good. It is a sign where those whom we really care and concerned for they will not leave us. It is a 2 way act. Well, it can be more than 2 ways. This is when we have discovered their importance in our lives. There is no room for hatred here because this act justifies the intersubjectivity of human existence at its best. It makes us feel very special and precious to all. It is the jewelry of relationships in physical terms. Nothing can replace this because it is the best thing in the world to compensate for our loneliness.
This can be a wonderful hobby. It is the most extensive kind of body contact. We can totally feel others with the sense of touch. We can cry our feelings out at that particular moment. We can really cry just for being grateful for their way of concerning us. We can apologize at this very moment of forgiveness. It completely summarizes the worth of our individuality, our integrity and our dignity as fellow human beings. It is a simple gesture of existential gratification with total authentic intentions to connect. It is the fuel of positive energy where we can really be encouraged expressing our feelings, our emotions to its fullest since we can really feel safe.
There are times when we don't want to let go and there are times when hugging is one of the best moments of our lives. We can really feel supported if hugging happens in a social support group. It is the moment when all arguments are silenced as they don't want to fight anymore.
Hugging softens our hearts and if this happens frequently, we not only become humble, but we learn to really connect with others and we can really learn to appreciate life very well, because these people are valuable, important and special.
If you want to hug others, you will be hugged by others. If you don't want to hug others, you wont get a hug. Apply Newton's 3rd law of motion to this principle. This is when we can become fully ourselves in the presence of other people. It is the most used act for people who haven't seen each other and who really do miss each other. It is an act of gratitude and of return to a greater sate.
Touching is the most widely used of senses. The skin is the largest organ in the human body. No matter what happens, no matter what we do, now matter what our attitude is, we should hug other people, because we will definitely see their true importance to us when they will be gone. That's a true fact and we should not take advantage of this fact.
Yes, I would like to hug other people. Maybe I can be one of those people who can make a "Free Hug Sign". That would be wonderful. It is truly authentic and natural. It is even better than hugging a tree. I would be very proud to be a hugger for all. :) So, feel other people.
(This came from my diary entry of November 7, 2010. I wrote this when I was in my dad's house then. )
So, to end this post, I will give you a hug. >:)< (I think this is the emoticon. LOL!!!)
Have a good day!
